Lowe's Shrimp or Hardware Twine Shrimp

This one may fall into the category of to many trips to the hardware this summer. Most big and small hardware's alike have rolls of polymer twine at the loading door for the customer to tie down the purchase. I have been thinking about what all that twine would be good for after you get home in regards to the tying bench.

This pattern sort came from a moment of inspiration or heat exhaustion one day :)

I believe it could be a great shrimp or with a color change up and some claw a pretty effective crayfish.

I haven't had time to test it out yet. Need to spend less time at the hardware and more time on the river ;)

Looking for some opinions and feedback in general.

For those of you wondering about the name options here in Western North Carolina, Lowe's Warehouse is our local 'big box' hardware. I am sure other stores and chains have the poly-twine at the back door as well :)

Testing the deer hair substitute for scarce hackle fly.

I took those flies tied with deer hair instead of hackle. They Work! Not a new fly to my little wild creeks just a new material on a old stand-by that somebody probably tied that way for a life time before those genetic engineers stepped in.

Caught lots of fish and here's several examples.

The stream I tested the in is not known for monster but fish that will eat the pattern with hackle pretty well. Believe till the fad dies off some this just might be a technique I'll continue to use :)
